# Billable hours are a conflict of interest. We removed it.

AI Pods use AI-First delivery to ship working software, priced in story points before we start. If we underestimate the effort, we absorb the overrun.

## Nobody in this industry wants to sell you an outcome

- Time and materials: Revenue is a function of how long the work takes
- Staff Augmentation: Revenue is a function of how many people sit on your account, ours included
- Metered AI tooling: Revenue is a function of how much you consume

Three meters, one shared property. None of them gets cheaper when delivery becomes more efficient.

So we removed the meter. A story point is delivered, tested functionality, sized on a 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 scale. We size the scope, you approve the point total, and the price stays fixed if we underestimated the effort. AI-First delivery lets us carry that estimation risk instead of passing it to you.

"Unlike other development companies that try to somehow sell you something that is more convenient for them to produce, and that will force you to remain dependent on them, Koombea always offers and provides the solution that works best for my specific needs."

Do It Center, Retail and Commerce client

"The Payix team is very thankful to Koombea for stepping in and helping us move past our previous development partner. With Koombea now by our side, we're achieving our client onboarding goals and maximizing revenue opportunities."

Chris Chestnut, CEO, Payix

"We have never felt our relationship with Koombea is the typical outsourcing relationship. I do not think of Koombea as a development company, but rather as an extended team."

Ryan Gaffney, Head of Technology, Luna

"From design to console and testing the overall system, Koombea has helped with almost every aspect of getting the platform off the ground."

Sang Kim, CEO, Purgo AI

"We want to change the way SMEs access financial products, something banks have not been willing to do for a long time."

Marcela Azcárate, CFO, Tuily

## A smaller team that ships more

An AI Pod is a lean delivery unit where AI is the primary development vector, not a supporting tool. AI runs across scoping, design, engineering, QA, and deployment. One named Delivery Manager owns your product direction, priorities, and communication.

Your priorities become product requirements, those requirements become precise technical specifications, and the specifications drive AI-First implementation behind automated quality gates. Each week, you see which points were used and what shipped.

Specs in: Your priorities, Product requirements, Technical specs

Deliverables out: Shipped features, Tests and quality gates, Weekly point report

## Two ways to buy a Pod

Both are AI Pods. If you already have an engineering team and a backlog you own, the honest answer is the other model: [Staff Augmentation](https://www.koombea.com/staff-augmentation/), billed hourly, where you direct the work. We keep both on the table because a partner that sells one shape will tell you your problem is that shape. Capacity tiers, the point scale and the contract terms are on the [pricing page](https://www.koombea.com/ai-pods/pricing/), and [how the three billing models compare](https://www.koombea.com/ai-pods/how-pricing-compares/) is its own page.

### Fixed-Bid Projects — A defined scope, a fixed price, a working product.

Best for new builds and well-defined initiatives. We scope your project into user stories with explicit acceptance criteria, price it in story points, and deliver in phases. Phase 1 always gives you a complete end-to-end product loop, never a foundation stub, so you can start small and scale from there.

- Full Work Breakdown Structure before you commit
- Phase 1 delivers a usable end-to-end product
- A change request covers any change of scope, priced at the same rate
- Every invoice states the points delivered and the balance remaining
### Monthly Capacity Commitment — Standing capacity, drawn down as you go.

Best for ongoing product development. Commit to a monthly point capacity across one or more delivery lanes, then set priorities in a short Priority Sync. Your Pod turns them into shipped features, and you move capacity up or down as your roadmap demands.

- Monthly point capacity across your delivery lanes
- A light month banks the difference, a heavy month draws it back down
- Banked points expire after 90 days, which we say here rather than in a clause
- Weekly capacity reports, so you always know where you stand

## On time and on budget. Now with a mechanism behind it.

Koombea has made the same commitment for years. Story points are what finally put teeth in it. Your scope is fixed in points before we start, and your price is fixed to those points. If we underestimated the effort inside that scope, we absorb it rather than re-invoice it.

- Covered: Your agreed scope at the agreed point price, delivered to the Definition of Done you signed off.
- Not covered: Scope you add after signature, which becomes a change request at the same point price, and delays that trace back to a decision we are waiting on.
- Either way: We tell you which one is happening, in writing, the week it happens. No quiet slippage discovered at the end of a phase.

## What the work actually did

Paymentez went from 4,000 daily transactions to 120,000. Its resellers grew from 85 to 4,700 in a year. Do It Center cut bounce rate by 90% and hit an NPS of 70. The client published every figure here first.
