Silicon valley of latin america

Welcome to the Silicon Valley of Latin America, we’ve all heard about the Silicon Valley in California, but there’s also smaller Silicon-like Valley’s growing worldwide. For example India, Europe, and sections of South America. With technology innovation, comes web development. Interestingly enough, web development in India is actually a high traffic Google search. That basically means it has ridiculously high monthly searches on Google. It seems that there is some sort of demand for web development no matter where you go.

Latin America in particular has it’s benefits especially if you are a company or aspiring entrepreneur from the U.S. looking for web development help elsewhere-It has certain advantages over the other tech-centers because of it’s location, advancements, and influenced culture.

Location and time.

Visualize this: You are an entrepreneur in San Francisco. Say it is 2 p.m. in San Francisco. That means that it’s 2:30 a.m. the next day in Bangalore. And it’s 5 a.m. the next day in Shanghai. But wait, it’s only between 4 and 6 p.m. in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. Instead of being more than 12 hours off, you can be only 2-4 hours off. Do you really want to communicate with a web developer at 3 in the morning? Crazy.

Cultural leadership and similarities.

Can you imagine someone designing your entertainment android application from the East? The pop culture is very different. Sure, some people might understand and religiously follow celebrity news in the U.S., but culture is not something you can learn easily. You need to experience it first hand. You need to live and breathe it. Latin America is very much like North America. Latin America takes its cultural leadership and pop culture from America, whereas the East does not. Stick with the experts.

Advanced technology in Latin America.

Latin American tech grew up more recently and therefore quite naturally embraced mobile and more modern web architectures. Mobile in Latin American has grown tremendously and has been popular since it became popular in the USA. Ruby on Rails (RoR), an open source web application framework, is also very popular in Latin America. Not so much in the East. The RoR framework, design, and philosophy is beautiful, especially if you are a start-up. It is the fastest programming language for startups. If you want to launch a site in less then 24 hours, you could absolutely do it. Being fast and efficient is just one of RoR’s many gems.

Web development is tricky and can be hard to understand. Make sure to do your research on the development agency before you do business with them. As previously mentioned, take a look at the culture, tech advancements, and even the time zone when in consideration for an abroad development agency. Some are willing to work with you, but problems can definitely occur.
